Harvest Turkey Sandwich
Share
Autumn is upon us! Bringing beautifully coloured leaves, crisp autumn air, and best of all – the Fall Harvest!
Here in Nova Scotia when we think of fall we think of apple picking, corn mazes, sunflowers, and pumpkin fields. We don’t know about you, but one of our favourite things about fall are the flavours! It’s the perfect time to gather with those you care about and share something delicious.
Many people think of soup when we think of a good fall food, and what goes better with soup than a sandwich! One of our favourites is a harvest turkey sandwich, with a twist!
Ingredients
- Sliced roast turkey
- Bacon
- Smoked Cheddar (we used Cows)
- Caramelized Red Onion Chutney
- Crisp Apple Slices
- A crusty baguette
Butter and toast your baguette, add a few dollops of Caramelized Red Onion Chutney, layer turkey, bacon, and the smoked cheddar. We prefer to toast this in the oven, under broil, to let the cheese melt. Then finish by adding the freshly chopped apple slices.
(If turkey and bacon aren’t your thing – this is also delicious without them.)
Biting into it immediately makes me think of apple picking, family dinners, and sweater weather – Yes Please!
Enjoy!
