About Harvest and Wild

We make artisan condiments and spreads, designed to elevate your dishes and be the perfect partner for good quality meats, cheeses, fish and produce. We do this by combining fresh, local ingredients with small batch cooking and obsessive attention to flavour. Proudly made in Nova Scotia.

We believe that good food is food that should be shared and enjoyed, not rushed.

Our story

Matt grew up in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, before moving to the UK to teach. There he met David and eventually they adopted their two boys. After spending several years traveling around Europe, Matt and David made the decision to return to Nova Scotia, during the pandemic no less.

Since returning to Nova Scotia they have sought to make the condiments they loved in Europe, using seasonal local ingredients. With high vegetable and fruit content, and lower sugar than what you normally find on the shelves of shops.

It’s turned into a bit of a family affair, with the whole family, grandparents, and aunt and uncle playing key taste testing roles.

We aim to use as many local ingredients as we can. From cider to the fruit and vegetables we use, we look for the best quality. For example, our Apple Ale chutney is made with nearly 90% local ingredients including Valley apples and Local Beer.

Artisan, small batch

We’ve learned the hard way, you can mass produce good quality. We make our chutneys and sauces in small batches, ensuring the highest quality each time. Every recipe has been tested again and again.
